About this Webinar:

In this webinar, we will discuss the process of grief and loss from the perspective of losing a loved one, whether it was expected or sudden. The stages of grief will be covered, and tips on how to move through the process will be provided. Ways to honor the loved one will be shared (through a process called 'ritual construction') and various potentially healing techniques will also be covered.

About Barbara Melton, M.Ed.

Barbara Melton, M.Ed., is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been in private practice in Charleston SC since 1991. She has worked with children, adolescents and adults with grief issues, and also specializes in working with trauma and loss. She is also trained in Critical Incident Stress Management and is the Disaster Mental Health Lead for the Charleston area chapter of the American Red Cross, where she has responded to many incidents involving death and loss. She has also worked with individuals, including first responders, affected by the Mother Emmanuel massacre that occurred in June of 2015.
